How does a Photovoltaic Solar System work?
Sunlight is absorbed by the Solar Panels on the roof making a direct current to power an Inverter. The Inverter will transform the Direct Current (DC) into an Alternating Current (AC) which when fed back to your main electric board will be used to power the electric appliances in your property.
Is my property suitable for a Photovoltaic Solar installation?
A South facing, un-shaded roof, pitched at 36° would generate the biggest return of electricity. However, the Photovoltaic panels still generate electricity on an East, West, shaded or differently pitched roof, with only a slight reduction in their effectiveness. Therefore the Photovoltaic panels are suitable for most installations. LB Solar will always advise if your property would not benefit from having the panels installed. No planning permission is required unless the property is a Listed Building.

Getting paid to generate your own electricity
The Government will pay 43.3 pence, ‘feed-in tariff’, for every Kilowatt that is produced by a Photovoltaic System installed by a MCS registered installer. Thus not only replacing your supplier’s peak charge of 22 pence per kilowatt but also generating an income, which is tax free for domestic properties. In addition to the Governments payment, the National Grid will also buy back any surplus electricity that your system has generated.

About the Installation
The installation of a system is approximately 2-3 days. We will assist with planning permission, if required. All other aspects of the installation such as scaffolding erection, and communication with your energy supplier will all be taken care of as part of the package. Our highly trained team of Installers will deliver a professional and efficient service, maintaining a safe working environment as a priority.
